Students, teachers and parents work extremely hard through the school year. On June 20th, it’s time to celebrate all the wonderful achievements! Providing we have clear weather, our event will take place at the field. Each class will have opportunity to share a song or two followed by the distribution of certificates for each student. These are very special moments.
Following the short ceremony, families can eat, play and enjoy special treats. Parents should be sure to empty their child’s cubby and take all belongings home. The festival concludes our school year. Childcare will not be offered after the event.
While our students dream of Christmas and candies, many of us parents are scurrying to find winter break care. Stepping Stones will be open to a limited amount of kindergarten through 5th grade students December 18th through 22nd. Planning of this fun filled week is underway! Be sure to register your student!
*Please note: Primary students are in school this week. No registration is required for chidlren enrolled Mrs. Chappell, Ms. Shoemaker, Mrs. Bosmans, Mrs. Kat or Ms. Mary's classes.
Mrs. Bosmans continues discussions with parents of the book How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. The group dives into Chapter 2 on Thursday, November 30th. All are welcome to join. Come find support and ideas for how to work with children so that they can develop the neccessary skills to be successful!
This year our Family Feast will take place at Stepping Stones rather than a larger venue. Students and staff look forward to celebrating the Season of Thanks with friends and family.
Each class will be performing a song or two. Please see below for your student's performance time. Students should be checked into their classroom 10-15 minutes prior to start time. Friends and family can then find their seats in the Ammolite room where students will be singing. Following the performance, students and parents will be dismissed back to the classroom where the feast will commence! Soup and sandwiches will be served in each classroom (some items prepared by the students!).

Let's just be honest. Being a parent is no cake walk (btw, does anyone still do the cake walk?). It takes a village of friends and family to raise children. Why not expand yours at Stepping Stones' Parent's Night Out?
This event will kick start a monthly parent's support group lead by Mrs. Bosmans, our Montessori expert. Find helpful tools and solidarity with other people living life just as you are! Hope to see you there!
This open house style event provides opportunity for parents and children to meet teachers, find cubbies, drop off supplies and get to know new friends. Light refreshments will be available.
Parents are also invited to drop off September's tuition and complete any missing forms for their students' file.
Parents new to Stepping Stones are strongly encouraged to attend this orientation. Montessori envisions a very specific philosophy. Knowing the culture and expectations for children, parents, and teachers will help ensure a smooth transition to the school year. Mrs. Bosmans, Stepping Stones School Director, will provide excellent information not only about the school, but how parents and teachers can partner to support the emotional and academic development of students.
Parents and students: we can use your help preparing our playground for the school year! Spreading bark and gravel throughout the grounds along with freshening our planters are a few of the many ways friends can chip in. Wheelbarrows, rakes and gardening tools are very helpful if available. Thank you in advance for your help!
Lower elementary and primary students take their moment on stage to receive their completion/participation certificate. This year, the event will take place in the neighboring field at 11:00am. Parents are welcome to come snag a seat as early as 10:30am. Food will be provided by a handful of vendors. All festivities will conclude by 1:30pm.
*Toddler and elementary before/after school care program will have a normal schedule.
